the body shop's hemp hand protector

i'm a nursing student and as nurse or anyone in the health care field, must know that hand washing is of #1 importance when preventing illness. it's completely vital for everyone to wash your hands (better than antibacterial! don't think it's the same effectiveness people), however when working in this field, we're constantly washing our hands being that we're around sick people all the time. so you can imagine the toll all that hand washing takes on your hands?

i come from a family with a history of eczema, luckily mine stops at dry skin. so my skin is dry to begin with and then when i get into my hospital rotations it's constant hand washing. on top of that i go to school in nyc, so i don't want to be carrying around all those germs on my hands i get from holding onto those poles on the train/bus, for times like that i use my antibacterial, which is very drying being that it's main ingredient is alcohol. basically...i have really dry skin! lol

i've found the perfect hydration restoring hand cream.
it's the hemp hand protector from the body shop.

i first saw hemp seed oil used in tanning lotions back when i was in hs. i thought it was weird that a lotion would use hemp seed oil, because i always thought of hemp as marijuana like wat ppl smoke lol. but i educated myself on the effects hemp seed oil has on your skin. so hemp is actually made up of a few fatty acids, most importantly omega 3. omega 3 is known to help problematic skin related to psoriasis, dry, itchy skin, eczema. hemp seed oil works by getting deep into your skin and replenishes it with these fatty acids which rehydrates your skin, basically repairing it and apparently hemp seed oil also helps with aging signs. so yea, there's your little science lesson on hemp seed oil effects on skin lol.

i don't carry this around with me in my purse or anything. i'll just put it on at night so my skin can repair over night.

my only issue with this hand cream is this creme is the smell. it's not that serious of a smell, but it does last a long time. i can wash my hands and i'll still smell it. however, the moisture it provides my skin definitely outweighs the not so great smell.
another great thing about this cream is that, being that it's so soft and silky it smooths over your skin so efficiently that you don't even need a lot, a pea size is enough, so this product will last a while being that i'm not using so much of it. after applying some lotions i get this feeling of residue on my skin and this cream does not leave that feeling at all, it gets absorbed by the skin quickly as you rub it in and it even softens your cuticles.

let me know if any of you guys have tried this out before, i've never heard of it until i got it as a present actually, and i love it! hope i helped anyone out whos been looking for a good hand cream.
